- The Bahamas is a country consisting of more than 3000 islands in the Atlantic Ocean, north of Cuba. Until 1973 it was part of the British Empire. Nowaday the Bahamas join to the Commonwealth, and are a unitary parliamentary democracy under constitutional monarchy.
