Description
The Pitcairn Islands are a group of four volcanic islands in the southern Pacific Ocean, 2200 kilometres East of Tahiti.
Only the island of Pitcairn is inhabited. They are part of the British Overseas Territory.
With less than 50 inhabitants they are the least populous country in the world.
The Pitcairn Islands major sources of revenue is the sale of coins and postage stamps to collectors; they are also known because in 1790 some of the mutineers from the Bounty settled on them.
